Revenue announced yesterday that the Pay and File deadline has been extended to 10th December. This means that anyone who has to submit a tax return has an extension from 12th November (for anyone who files online – nearly everyone these days) or 31st October (for paper filings).
This was done to take the pressure off the accountants and tax practitioners whose workload increased during the pandemic due to all the additional supports put in place. I will still be working to my original deadlines with my current clients but will have a little more capacity than I originally thought due to the extension.
